Aminosalicylic Acid, formerly known as Para-aminosalicylic acid (PAS), is one of the last remaining drugs available to treat extensively drug-resistant (XDR) tuberculosis. It is an antitubercular agent often administered in association with ISONIAZID. The sodium salt of the drug is better tolerated than the free acid.
