Background:

Ankaflavin, isolated from Monascus-Fermented red rice, is a PPARγ agonist with anti-inlfammatory activity. Ankaflavin exhibits selective cytotoxic effect and induces cell death on cancer cells[1][2]. PPARγ[2].
