Background:

4'-Acetylchrysomycin B is a bacterial metabolite and derivative of chrysomycin B that has been found inStreptomycesand has antibacterial and anticancer activities.¹It is active against strains ofB. subtilis,B. cereus,Corynebacterium bovis, andE. faecalis(MICs = 2-64 µg/ml). 4'-Acetylchrysomycin B is cytotoxic against a panel of human cancer cell lines, including doxorubicin-sensitive or -resistant cells (IC₅₀s = 1.7-14 and 260-370 ng/ml, respectively).
