Background:

Docosapentaenoic Acid-d₅(DPA-d₅) contains five deuterium atoms at the 21, 21, 22, 22 and 22 positions. It is intended for use as an internal standard for the quantification of DPA by GC- or LC-MS. DPA is an ω-3 fatty acid found in fish oils. It is a minor constituent of the total serum unsaturated fatty acids in humans, ranging from 0.1 to 1%, and increases on dietary supplementation.¹
