背景信息:
Strawberry notch homolog 2 (Sbno2) was identified as an IL-6-stimulated gene in murine astrocytes. The SBNO2 protein is a putative DExD/H-box containing helicase and one of the two known mouse homologs of the Drosophila gene sno. Sno is involved in EGFR and Notch-related signaling and consequential cell fate determination during development. The strawberry notch family genes sbno1 and sbno2a were involved in zebrafish brain development. The mouse homolog Sbno1 is upregulated in neurons upon Reelin signaling. The Reelin pathway interacts with the Notch pathway, also linking the murine SBNO1 to Notch signaling. Both pathways may be involved in neurogenesis and neuronal migration. IL-10 stimulates the expression of the Sbno2 gene in a STAT3-dependent fashion in bone marrow derived macrophages (BMDMs). SBNO2 functions as an acute inflammatory response gene in astrocytes as well as other cells in the central nervous system (CNS).
