Diphenyleneiodonium Chloride is an agonist of GPR3. It activates several GPR3-mediated signal transduction pathways, including Ca(2+) mobilization, cAMP accumulation, membrane recruitment of ss-arrestin2, and receptor desensitization. Diphenyleneiodonium Chloride also acts as a potent and reversible inhibitor of nitric oxide synthetase from macrophages and endothelial cells, and inhibits other flavoenzymes such as neutrophil NADPH oxidase.
