Thymine-d₄is intended for use as an internal standard for the quantification of thymine by GC- or LC-MS. Thymine is a pyrimidine base.¹It forms complementary base pairs with the purine adenine in DNA.¹Thymine is produced by the catabolism of thymidineviathymidine phosphorylase.²It is replaced with uracil in RNA.³
