DOI hydrochloride is a serotonin5-HT_2A/_2Creceptoragonist withK_ivalues of 0.7 nM, 2.4 nM and 20 nM for h5-HT_2A, h5-HT_2Cand h5-HT_2Breceptors, respectively. DOI hydrochloride can across the blood-brain barrier. DOI hydrochloride increases head twitches in mice^[1][2][3].

DOI hydrochloride (10 μM; for 45 min) causes a massive increase in adhesion with 99% of the cells staying adherent compared to only 42% of untreated Hu2AAB1 cells^[5].
