CC -!- FUNCTION: Probably acts as a transcriptional activator and may be
CC involved in disease resistance pathways (By similarity). Binds to the
CC GCC-box pathogenesis-related promoter element. Involved in the
CC regulation of gene expression by stress factors and by components of
CC stress signal transduction pathways mediated by ethylene, that seems to
CC depend on a protein kinase cascade and to be influenced by methyl-
CC jasmonate. {ECO:0000250, ECO:0000269|PubMed:7756828,
CC ECO:0000269|Ref.2}.
CC -!- SUBCELLULAR LOCATION: Nucleus {ECO:0000305}.
CC -!- TISSUE SPECIFICITY: Expressed in roots and at low levels in buds and
CC leaves. Highly expressed in cell culture, especially during the
CC exponential phase. {ECO:0000269|PubMed:11440157,
CC ECO:0000269|PubMed:7756828}.
CC -!- INDUCTION: Highly and transiently expressed in tobacco mosaic virus
CC (TMV) infected leaves. Induced by methyl-jasmonate (MeJA), and by
CC ethephon (ethylene-releasing compound) in buds and to lower extent in
CC leaves. Quickly and transiently induced by salicylic acid (SA).
CC Strongly induced by wounding, independently of ethylene, and through a
CC de-novo-protein-synthesis-independent regulation. Wound induction is
CC reduced by MeJA. Also induced by acetyl salicylic acid (ASA),
CC cycloheximide, auxin (2,4-D), and benzoic acid (BA) but seems to not be
CC influenced by 4-hydroxybenzoic acid (4HBA), thiamine, H(2)O(2) or
CC abscisic acid (ABA). {ECO:0000269|PubMed:7756828,
CC ECO:0000269|PubMed:9725022, ECO:0000269|Ref.2}.
CC -!- DOMAIN: The AP2/ERF domain binds specifically to the 5'-GCCGCC-3'
CC motif. The affinity of this binding is higher if the seventh amino-acid
CC of this domain is basic (By similarity). {ECO:0000250}.
CC -!- SIMILARITY: Belongs to the ethylene-response factor family. Class 1
CC subfamily. {ECO:0000305}.
