CC   -!- FUNCTION: Involved in transport from the ER to the Golgi apparatus as
CC       well as in intra-Golgi transport. It belongs to a super-family of
CC       proteins called t-SNAREs or soluble NSF (N-ethylmaleimide-sensitive
CC       factor) attachment protein receptor. Cooperates with ykt-6 for proper
CC       expression of Golgi-resident proteins. Required along with ykt-6 for
CC       normal embryonic development, seam cell division or differentiation,

CC       intestinal cells. Also weakly expressed in epithelial cells of the
CC       vulva. Overall, expression appears to be restricted to certain types of
CC       epithelial cells and changes with developmental stages.

CC   -!- DISRUPTION PHENOTYPE: Reduction in brood size at adulthood. Abnormal
CC       tail structure, and loss of the T-cell derived rays, R7-R9, of the
CC       male-specific sensory rays, but ray sensory function remains intact.
CC       Combined with ykt-6 knock-down causes reduced seam cell leading to loss
CC       of ray phenotype. At cellular level, reduced expression of Golgi-
CC       resident proteins like mannosidase II, and more so in combination with
