CC -!- FUNCTION: This three-finger cytotoxin shows cytotoxicity and direct
CC nephrotoxicity. The cytotoxicity has been observed on B16F10 melanoma
CC cells (EC(50)=2.56 uM) (PubMed:16997639) and on kidney proximal tubular
CC epithelium LLCPK1 cells (EC(50)=4.79 uM); it is due to necrotic cell
CC death and not to apoptosis. Direct nephrotoxicity has been deduced from
CC binding to LLCPK1 cell line and to kidney membranes. In addition, after
CC intravenous injection into mice tail vein, the toxin principally
CC accumulates in kidney, but only minimally in blood, liver and brain
CC       (PubMed:17499831). {ECO:0000269|PubMed:16997639,
CC       ECO:0000269|PubMed:17499831}.
CC -!- SUBUNIT: Monomer. Homodimerizes during storage at 30 degrees Celsius
CC (observed after 3 days). {ECO:0000269|PubMed:16997639}.
CC -!- SUBCELLULAR LOCATION: Secreted {ECO:0000269|PubMed:16997639}. Target
CC       cell membrane {ECO:0000250|UniProtKB:P60301}.
CC -!- TISSUE SPECIFICITY: Expressed by the venom gland. {ECO:0000305}.
CC   -!- MASS SPECTROMETRY: Mass=7201.0; Method=Electrospray;
CC       Evidence={ECO:0000269|PubMed:16997639, ECO:0000269|PubMed:17499831};
CC -!- SIMILARITY: Belongs to the snake three-finger toxin family. Short-chain
CC subfamily. Type IA cytotoxin sub-subfamily. {ECO:0000305}.
CC -!- CAUTION: Surprinsingly, this toxin has also been observed to have
CC phospholipase A2 and trypsin inhibitory activities.
CC       {ECO:0000269|PubMed:16997639}.
