CC -!- FUNCTION: Neurotoxin that is probably only defensive (Probable). Acts
CC as a voltage-gated potassium channel (Kv) inhibitor (By similarity). In
CC vivo, induces a rapid increase in swimming speed on zebrafish larvae,
CC as well as death which occurs between 2 and 18 hours later
CC (PubMed:29424690). {ECO:0000250|UniProtKB:C0HJC4,
CC ECO:0000269|PubMed:29424690, ECO:0000305|PubMed:29424690}.
CC -!- SUBCELLULAR LOCATION: Secreted {ECO:0000250|UniProtKB:C0HJC4}.
CC Nematocyst {ECO:0000250|UniProtKB:C0HJC4}.
CC -!- TISSUE SPECIFICITY: In unfertilized eggs and early post-fertilization
CC stages, is expressed uniformly. In gastrulae, the expression becomes
CC spatially-localized and seems to be absent from the oral and aboral
CC poles. In planulae, the expression is clearly observed in the ectoderm
CC in packed gland cells absent from the two body poles, and upon
CC metamorphosis, the expression diminishes. There is two types of gland
CC cells, one large and elongated and another small and round. This toxin
CC is maternally deposited at both protein and RNA levels.
CC {ECO:0000269|PubMed:29424690}.
CC -!- DEVELOPMENTAL STAGE: Highly expressed in unfertilized eggs, late
CC planulae, primary polyps, and adult females (at protein level). Not
CC expressed in adult males (at protein level). Consistant with protein
CC expression, transcripts are highly expressed in unfertilized eggs,
CC blastulae, gastrulae, early and late planulae, metamorphosing planulae,
CC and adult females. Its expression is moderate in primary polyps. Its
CC expression is very low in juvenile polyps, and adult males.
CC {ECO:0000269|PubMed:29424690}.
CC -!- PTM: Contains 4 disulfide bonds. {ECO:0000250|UniProtKB:C0HJC4}.
CC -!- SIMILARITY: Belongs to the sea anemone type 5 potassium channel toxin
CC family. {ECO:0000305}.
CC -!- SEQUENCE CAUTION:
