CC -!- FUNCTION: [M-zodatoxin-Lt6a]: Does not have antimicrobial activity
CC against neither Gram-positive bacteria (A.globiformis VKM Ac-1112
CC (MIC>70 uM), and B.subtilis VKM B-501 (MIC>70 uM)), nor Gram-negative
CC bacteria (E.coli DH5-alpha (MIC>70 uM), E.coli MH1 (MIC>70 uM), and
CC P.aeruginosa PAO1 (MIC>70 uM)), nor yeasts (P.pastoris GS115 (MIC>70
CC uM), and S.cerevisiae Y190 (MIC>70 uM)). Does not have hemolytic
CC activity against rabbit erythrocytes. However, it causes some
CC conductance changes in planar bilayer membranes, without membrane
CC rupture, suggesting a cytolytic function on other biological targets.
CC It causes paralysis, but is not lethal when injected into insect
CC (M.domestica) larvae. {ECO:0000269|PubMed:16735513}.
CC -!- SUBCELLULAR LOCATION: Secreted {ECO:0000269|PubMed:16735513,
CC ECO:0000269|PubMed:27287558}.
CC -!- TISSUE SPECIFICITY: Expressed by the venom gland.
CC {ECO:0000305|PubMed:16735513, ECO:0000305|PubMed:27287558}.
CC -!- DOMAIN: The mature peptides (45-79 and 84-116) probably form alpha-
CC helices which disrupt target cell membranes.
CC {ECO:0000303|PubMed:16735513}.
CC -!- PTM: Cleavage of the propeptide depends on the processing quadruplet
CC motif (XXXR, with at least one of X being E).
CC {ECO:0000303|PubMed:27287558}.
CC -!- MASS SPECTROMETRY: [M-zodatoxin-Lt6a]: Mass=4035.1; Method=MALDI;
CC Note=M-zodatoxin-Lt6a.; Evidence={ECO:0000269|PubMed:27287558};
CC -!- SIMILARITY: Belongs to the cationic peptide 03 (latarcin) family. 06
CC subfamily. {ECO:0000305}.
