CC -!- FUNCTION: Has metal-independent hemagglutinating activity against
CC erythrocytes from human, sheep, goat, rat, rabbit and chicken.
CC Hemagglutinating activity is inhibited by glycoproteins fetuin, asialo-
CC fetuin, fibrinogen, asialo-fibrinogen, thyroglobulin, bovine (BSM) as
CC well as porcine submaxillary mucin and asialo-BSM but not by sugars
CC alpha-L-fucose, D-glucose, D-galactose, D-glucosamine, D-galactosamine,
CC lactose, D-melibiose, D/L-mannose, D-mannosamine, D-raffinose, L-
CC rhamnose, xylose, glacaturonic acid or N-acetylglucosamine. Has
CC antifungal activity against F.oxysporum (MIC=20 ug/ml), P.chrysogenum
CC (MIC=35 ug/ml), A.niger (MIC=50 ug/ml), C.musae (MIC=60 ug/ml),
CC B.cinerea (MIC=65 ug/ml), T.rubrum (MIC=65 ug/ml), T.tonsurans (MIC=20
CC ug/ml), T.interdigitale (MIC=20 ug/ml), E.floccosum (MIC=15 ug/ml) and
CC M.canis (MIC=70 ug/ml). {ECO:0000269|PubMed:21728991}.
CC -!- BIOPHYSICOCHEMICAL PROPERTIES:
CC pH dependence:
CC Hemagglutinating activity is stable from pH 4 to pH 9 but drops
CC sharply below pH 4 and above pH 9. {ECO:0000269|PubMed:21728991};
CC Temperature dependence:
CC Hemagglutinating activity is stable below 60 degrees Celsius but
CC drops sharply to about 20% at 80 degrees Celsius.
