CC -!- FUNCTION: Makes mgtA transcription sensitive to intracellular proline
CC levels. At low levels of proline this proline-rich protein cannot be
CC fully translated, and stem loop 'C' forms in the mgtA 5' UTR which
CC permits transcription of the downstream mgtA gene. Osmotic shock
CC induction (0.3 M NaCl) also depends on mgtL translation. The distance
CC between the mtgL-translating ribosome and the nucleotides which form
CC the downstream stem loop 'C' is critical for mgtL-mediated
