CC -!- FUNCTION: N-glycosylase that inhibits protein synthesis by depurinating
CC ribosomal rRNA, and thus acts as a ribosomal inactivating protein (RIP)

CC glycosidase activity on the poly(A) substrate A30-ssDNA
CC (PubMed:11556814). Inhibits cell-free translation in rabbit
CC reticulocyte lysate system with an IC(50) of 1 nM (PubMed:11556814,
CC PubMed:34769028). May function in the defense response to pathogens
CC (PubMed:11556814). Displays antifungal activity against C.comatus and
CC P.piricola, but not against R.solani, M.arachidicola and C.gossypii
CC (PubMed:11556814). Inhibits mycelial growth in P.piricola with an
CC IC(50) of 2.5 uM (PubMed:11556814). Has cytotoxic activity against the
CC human cancer cell lines Hela, HepG2, and JAR, with IC(50) of 358.8,
CC 489.8, and 926.9 nM respectively (PubMed:34769028). It also inhibits
CC HIV-1 reverse transcriptase activity (IC(50)=7.9 nM) and disrupts mouse
CC embryonic development (PubMed:11556814, PubMed:19568748).
