CC -!- FUNCTION: Antimicrobial peptide active against Gram-positive bacteria
CC like B.subtilis, S.aureus and L.monocytogenes as well as against Gram-
CC negative bacteria like E.coli and P.aeruginosa with minimum inhibitory
CC concentrations (MIC) between 1.3 uM and 35 uM (PubMed:24616110,
CC PubMed:29185466). Active against fungus C.albicans (MIC=6.3 uM)
CC (PubMed:24616110). Has little hemolytic activity (PubMed:24616110,
CC PubMed:29185466). Acts by disrupting membranes and bacterial cell wall
CC structures (PubMed:29185466). Adopts an alpha-helical structure in a
CC membrane mimic environment (PubMed:24616110, PubMed:29185466). Binds to
CC peptidoglycan and lipopolysaccharide (LPS) (PubMed:29185466).
CC {ECO:0000269|PubMed:24616110, ECO:0000269|PubMed:29185466}.
CC -!- SUBCELLULAR LOCATION: Secreted {ECO:0000269|PubMed:24616110}.
CC -!- TISSUE SPECIFICITY: Expressed by the venom gland.
CC {ECO:0000305|PubMed:24616110}.
CC -!- MASS SPECTROMETRY: Mass=1416.1; Mass_error=0.1; Method=Electrospray;
CC Evidence={ECO:0000269|PubMed:24616110};
