CC -!- FUNCTION: Component of the MICOS complex, a large protein complex of
CC the mitochondrial inner membrane that plays crucial roles in the
CC maintenance of crista junctions, inner membrane architecture, and
CC formation of contact sites to the outer membrane.
CC {ECO:0000250|UniProtKB:Q5TGZ0}.
CC -!- SUBUNIT: Component of the mitochondrial contact site and cristae
CC organizing system (MICOS) complex, composed of at least MICOS10/MIC10,
CC CHCHD3/MIC19, CHCHD6/MIC25, APOOL/MIC27, IMMT/MIC60, APOO/MIC23/MIC26
CC and MICOS13/MIC13 (By similarity). This complex was also known under
CC the names MINOS or MitOS complex (By similarity). The MICOS complex
CC associates with mitochondrial outer membrane proteins SAMM50, MTX1 and
CC MTX2 (together described as components of the mitochondrial outer
CC membrane sorting assembly machinery (SAM) complex) and DNAJC11,
CC mitochondrial inner membrane protein TMEM11 and with HSPA9 (By
CC similarity). The MICOS and SAM complexes together with DNAJC11 are part
CC of a large protein complex spanning both membranes termed the
CC mitochondrial intermembrane space bridging (MIB) complex. Interacts
CC with IMMT/MIC60 and MICOS13/MIC13 (By similarity). Interacts with
CC APOO/MIC23/MIC26 and APOOL/MIC27 (By similarity). Interacts with ARMC1
CC (By similarity). {ECO:0000250|UniProtKB:Q5TGZ0}.
CC -!- SUBCELLULAR LOCATION: Mitochondrion inner membrane
CC {ECO:0000250|UniProtKB:Q5TGZ0}; Single-pass membrane protein
CC {ECO:0000250|UniProtKB:Q5TGZ0}. Note=The C-terminus is located in the
CC intermembrane space, while the location of the N-terminus has not been
CC determined yet. As some programs predict the presence of 2 closely
CC apposed membrane domains, it has been proposed that the protein may
CC cross the membrane twice and that both termini may face the
CC intermembrane space. {ECO:0000250|UniProtKB:Q5TGZ0}.
CC -!- SIMILARITY: Belongs to the MICOS complex subunit Mic10 family.
CC {ECO:0000305}.
