CC   -!- FUNCTION: Major urinary proteins (Mups) bind pheromones, thus stabilize
CC       them and allow slow release into the air from urine marks. May protect
CC       pheromones from oxidation. May also act as pheromones themselves. In
CC       this context, they play a role in the regulation of social behaviors,
CC       such as aggression, mating, pup-suckling, territory establishment and

CC       C57BL/6J and 129S7, transcriptional support is lacking for Mup17.
