CC -!- TISSUE SPECIFICITY: First expressed in 11-12 hour embryos. In the
CC rostral brain of 13 hour embryos, expressed within the anterior half of
CC the midbrain and the posterior part of the diencephalon. In the
CC presumptive hindbrain, expressed in a segment-like stripe in the
CC anterior region, resembling the presumptive rhombomere units of the
CC hindbrain. Also detected in the intermediate mesoderm, posterior to the
CC first somite. As somitogenesis proceeds, expression extends posteriorly
CC and flanks the 10 most anterior somites. Expression changes extensively
CC both in level and expansion of domains between 13 and 20 hours. In the
CC rostral brain, expression extends to include a major part of the
CC diencephalon and a caudal portion of the telencephalon. Within the
CC hindbrain, strongly expressed in the two most anterior rhombomeres, and
CC a lower but uniform expression is seen to extend throughout rhombomere
CC 7. In 28 hour embryos, higher and more uniform expression is seen in
CC both rostral and hindbrain areas. Also expressed in the retina of the
