CC       grain protein content (GPC). Accelerates senescence and increases
CC       nutrient remobilization from leaves to developing grains. The
CC       tetraploid cultivated wheat (T.durum) and the hexaploid wheat
CC       (T.aestivum) carry a one bp insertion generating a non-functional
CC       allele of this gene. They have a delayed senescence and a lower grain
CC       protein, zinc and iron content (PubMed:17124321).
