CC -!- FUNCTION: Secreted effector that induces necrotic lesions in Nicotiana
CC benthamiana (PubMed:22352720). Interacts with the rice receptor-like
CC kinases (RLKs) BAK1/SERK3 and BKK1/SERK4, inhibits their kinase
CC activity and suppresses INF1-induced pathogen-associated molecular
CC pattern (PAMP)-triggered immunity (PTI) in N.benthamiana
CC (PubMed:30584105). Also interacts with the rice receptor-like
CC cytoplasmic kinase (RLCK) BIK1 and inhibits its kinase activity,
CC thereby inhibiting PAMP-induced ROS generation (PubMed:30584105). In
CC PTI, phosphorylation relaying by RLKs and RLCKs is critical for the
CC initiation of downstream signaling (PubMed:30584105). Suppresses
CC R3a/Avr3a-dependent hypersensitive response (HR) cell deat and thus may
CC have additional targets, probably belonging to a kinase family that
CC regulates Avr3a effector-triggered immunity (ETI) (PubMed:30584105).
CC {ECO:0000269|PubMed:22352720, ECO:0000269|PubMed:30584105}.
CC -!- SUBUNIT: Interacts with the host pattern recognition receptor (PRR)-
CC associated kinases BAK1/SERK3, BKK1/SERK4 and BIK1.
CC {ECO:0000269|PubMed:30584105}.
CC -!- SUBCELLULAR LOCATION: Secreted {ECO:0000269|PubMed:30584105}. Host
CC cytoplasm {ECO:0000269|PubMed:30584105}.
CC -!- DOMAIN: The C-terminal region from residues 107 to 136 is important for
CC BAK1/SERK3-binding and the host cell death suppression.
CC {ECO:0000250|UniProtKB:N4VG36}.
CC -!- DISRUPTION PHENOTYPE: Severely compromised the virulence of M.oryzae on
CC rice and barley. {ECO:0000269|PubMed:30584105}.
CC -!- SIMILARITY: Belongs to the NIS1 effector family. {ECO:0000305}.
