CC   -!- FUNCTION: One of the components of the core complex of photosystem II
CC       (PSII), required for the stability, but not for the assembly of dimeric
CC       PSII and PSII-outer antenna supercomplexes (PSII-LHCII), and for
CC       assembly of the functional Q(A)-binding site (PubMed:16920705). PSII is
CC       a light-driven water:plastoquinone oxidoreductase that uses light
CC       energy to abstract electrons from H(2)O, generating O(2) and a proton
CC       gradient subsequently used for ATP formation. It consists of a core
CC       antenna complex that captures photons, and an electron transfer chain
CC       that converts photonic excitation into a charge separation.
