CC as source of reducing equivalents; two electrons are transferred (By
CC similarity). Capable of reducing metronidazole; inactive RdxA renders
CC the bacterium resistant to this compound. The reduction of
CC metronidazole generates hydroxylamine, a potent mutagen and
