CC -!- FUNCTION: Cytoplasmic adapter regulating receptors of the signaling
CC lymphocytic activation molecule (SLAM) family. In SLAM signaling may
CC cooperate with Sh2d1a/SAP. Plays a role in regulation of effector
CC functions of natural killer (NK) cells by controlling signal
CC transduction through Cd244/2b4. However, conflicting results are
CC reported which may reflect the use of different strain backgrounds.
CC Proposed to act as an inhibitor of Cd244-mediated NK cell function
CC including cytotoxicity and IFN-gamma production, the latter found also
CC by triggering Klra4 and Klrk1 next to Cd244 (PubMed:16127454). Seems to
CC positively regulate Cd244- and Cd84-dependent NK cell functions
CC implicating Cd244-mediated phosphorylation of Vav1 (PubMed:20962259).
CC {ECO:0000269|PubMed:16127454, ECO:0000269|PubMed:20962259}.
CC -!- SUBUNIT: Interacts with SLAMF1 (phosphorylated). Interacts with CD244.
CC Interacts with Src kinases HCK, LYN, FYN, FGR and LCK (via kinase
CC domains). {ECO:0000269|PubMed:16127454, ECO:0000269|PubMed:16425036}.
CC -!- SUBCELLULAR LOCATION: Cytoplasm {ECO:0000305}.
CC -!- TISSUE SPECIFICITY: Expressed in spleen. Expressed in macrophages,
CC CD8(+) T-Cells and NK cells (PubMed:16425036). Conflictingly found only
CC in NK cells (PubMed:16127454). {ECO:0000269|PubMed:16127454,
CC ECO:0000269|PubMed:16425036}.
