CC -!- FUNCTION: Causes a slow progressive depressant flaccid paralysis, when
CC injected into S.falculata blowfly larvae. Inhibits dose-dependently the
CC total sodium (Nav) currents both in dorsal root ganglia neurons and in
CC ventricular myocytes. Is toxic to mice by intravenous injection, but
CC not by subcutaneous or intracerebroventricular injection. Produces
CC antiarrhythmia in rat. Is then active on both mammals and insects.
