CC -!- DISRUPTION PHENOTYPE: Defects in meiotic double-strand breaks (DSBs)
CC repair and reduced crossover formation. However, discrepancies exist
CC between the different reports. According to a report, deletion induces
CC male sterility (PubMed:18316482). Females are fertile with reduced
CC litter. Adult mice show an arrest in male meiosis and aberrant
CC chromosome segregation in anaphase spermatocytes. Chromosomal asynapsis
CC and reduced crossover formation are observed, leading to elimination of
CC spermatocytes at the pachytene and anaphase I stages (PubMed:18316482).
