CC -!- FUNCTION: Transcription factor required for hyphal growth, biofilm
CC formation, and virulence. Promotes formation of both conventional and
CC pheromone-stimulated biofilms. Binds and recruits HDA1 to promoters of
CC hypha-specific genes in a rapamycin-dependent manner. Involved in the
CC switch between two heritable states, the white and opaque states. These
CC two cell types differ in many characteristics, including cell
CC structure, mating competence, and virulence. Each state is heritable
CC for many generations, and switching between states occurs
CC stochastically at low frequency. {ECO:0000269|PubMed:12773383,
CC ECO:0000269|PubMed:20041210, ECO:0000269|PubMed:22276126,

CC ECO:0000269|PubMed:23555196, ECO:0000269|PubMed:23637598}.
CC -!- SUBUNIT: Interacts with HDA1. {ECO:0000269|PubMed:22536157}.
CC -!- SUBCELLULAR LOCATION: Nucleus {ECO:0000269|PubMed:22536157}.
CC -!- INDUCTION: Up-regulation during the yeast-to-hypha transition is
CC dependent upon the function of YAK1. HOG1 represses the expression of
CC BRG1 via the transcriptional repressor SKO1. Regulated by TYE7 during
CC late-stage biofilm formation. {ECO:0000269|PubMed:18321992,
CC ECO:0000269|PubMed:21414038, ECO:0000269|PubMed:23171549}.
CC -!- DISRUPTION PHENOTYPE: Attenuates virulence in a mouse model of systemic
CC infection. {ECO:0000269|PubMed:22276126}.
