CC -!- FUNCTION: Inhibits voltage-gated potassium channel currents in DRG
CC neurons. 200 nM of the toxin inhibits current amplitude by only 25% and
CC even at concentrations up to 5 uM, the toxin does not inhibit all
CC potassium currents. In vivo, insects injected with this toxin showed
CC signs of neurotoxicity including twitching, paralysis, and body
CC contraction. {ECO:0000269|PubMed:22595790}.
CC -!- SUBCELLULAR LOCATION: Secreted {ECO:0000269|PubMed:22595790}.
CC -!- TISSUE SPECIFICITY: Expressed by the venom gland.
CC {ECO:0000305|PubMed:22595790}.
CC -!- PTM: Contains 2 disulfide bonds. {ECO:0000305}.
CC -!- MASS SPECTROMETRY: Mass=7989.05; Method=MALDI;
CC Evidence={ECO:0000269|PubMed:22595790};
CC -!- TOXIC DOSE: the LD(50) ranges from 0.040 mg/kg in adult blowflies to
CC 24.1 mg/kg in mealworms. {ECO:0000269|PubMed:22595790}.
CC -!- SIMILARITY: Belongs to the scoloptoxin-11 family. {ECO:0000305}.
