CC -!- FUNCTION: May participate in nuclear egress of viral particles. Plays a
CC role in the dispersal of several host nucleolar proteins including
CC NCL/nucleolin and NPM1. Since deletion of host NCL/nucleolin negatively
CC impact on nuclear egress, UL76 supposedly acts on this process through
CC its effect on host nucleoli. Induces cell cycle arrest in host cells at
CC the G2/M phase following by apoptosis. The mechanism involves the
CC inhibition of host mitotic complex cyclinB/CDK1.
CC {ECO:0000269|PubMed:18617993}.
CC -!- SUBCELLULAR LOCATION: Virion {ECO:0000269|PubMed:15331708}. Host
CC nucleus {ECO:0000269|PubMed:10993928, ECO:0000269|PubMed:18617993}.
CC Host nucleus, host nucleolus {ECO:0000269|PubMed:18617993}.
CC -!- INDUCTION: Expressed late in the infection cycle.
CC -!- SIMILARITY: Belongs to the herpesviridae UL24 family. {ECO:0000305}.
