CC -!- FUNCTION: Alpha-conotoxins act on postsynaptic membranes, they bind to
CC the nicotinic acetylcholine receptors (nAChR) and thus inhibit them.
CC This toxin inhibits both adult and fetal (alpha-1/beta-1/epsilon/delta
CC and alpha-1/beta-1/gamma/delta subunits) mammalian muscle nicotinic
CC acetylcholine receptors (nAChR). In vivo, it causes paralysis and death
CC in mice and fish. {ECO:0000269|PubMed:17608455}.
CC -!- SUBCELLULAR LOCATION: Secreted {ECO:0000269|PubMed:17608455}.
CC -!- TISSUE SPECIFICITY: Expressed by the venom duct.
CC {ECO:0000269|PubMed:17608455}.
CC -!- DOMAIN: The cysteine framework is C-C. {ECO:0000305}.
CC -!- MASS SPECTROMETRY: Mass=3540.7; Method=MALDI;
CC Evidence={ECO:0000269|PubMed:17608455};
