CC -!- FUNCTION: Immunity protein component of a toxin-immunity protein
CC module, which functions as a cellular contact-dependent growth
CC inhibition (CDI) system. CDI modules allow bacteria to communicate with
CC and inhibit the growth of closely related neighboring bacteria in a
CC contact-dependent fashion. Neutralizes the toxic activity of cognate
CC toxin CdiA (C-terminal 301 residue CT fragment) upon expression in
CC E.coli. Does not inhibit toxic activity of CdiA from other strains of
CC B.pseudomallei. {ECO:0000269|PubMed:22435733,
CC ECO:0000269|PubMed:25174572}.
CC -!- FUNCTION: Expression of this cdiAIB locus in B.thailandensis confers
CC protection against other bacteria carrying the locus; growth inhibition
CC requires cellular contact. {ECO:0000269|PubMed:22435733}.
CC -!- SUBUNIT: Specifically interacts with the truncated CT fragment of
CC cognate toxin protein CdiA-2, which inhibits CdiA-2 tRNA nuclease
CC activity. {ECO:0000269|PubMed:22435733, ECO:0000269|PubMed:23236156}.
