CC -!- FUNCTION: Cecropins have lytic and antibacterial activity against
CC several Gram-positive and Gram-negative bacteria. Has antibacterial
CC activity against the Gram-positive bacteria M.luteus (MIC=34.4 uM),
CC L.monocytogenes (MIC=34.4 uM), and S.lutea (MIC=34.4 uM), and the Gram-
CC negative bacterium E.coli D31 (MIC=8.6 uM). Lacks antibacterial
CC activity against the Gram-positive bacterium B.circulans, and the Gram-
CC negative bacteria E.coli ATCC 25922 and S.typhimurium. Has antifungal
CC activity against A.niger, but lacks antifungal activity against
CC C.albicans, C.wickerhamii, F.oxysporum, P.pastoris, P.tannophilus,
CC S.cerevisiae, T.harzianum, and Z.marxianus.
