CC -!- FUNCTION: Component of a regulatory phosphorelay system that controls
CC B.abortus cell growth, division, and intracellular survival inside
CC mammalian host cells. This signaling pathway is composed of CckA, ChpT,
CC CtrA and CpdR. CtrA is a response regulator substrate of ChpT. When
CC phosphorylated, directly regulates the expression of ccrM. Is also
CC probably involved in the transcriptional regulation of rpoD, pleC, minC
CC and ftsE genes. {ECO:0000250|UniProtKB:Q2YQA4,
CC ECO:0000250|UniProtKB:Q9ZHS1}.
CC -!- SUBUNIT: Forms an asymmetric heterotetramer with ChpT (2:2). There are
CC at least two modes of interaction between ChpT and CtrA, only one of
CC which is competent to catalyze His-Asp phosphoryl transfer.
CC {ECO:0000250|UniProtKB:Q2YQA4}.
CC -!- SUBCELLULAR LOCATION: Cytoplasm {ECO:0000250|UniProtKB:Q2YQA4}.
CC -!- PTM: Is phosphorylated by ChpT-P on Asp-51.
CC {ECO:0000250|UniProtKB:Q2YQA4, ECO:0000250|UniProtKB:Q9ZHS1}.
